That will keep you on the safe side. You can scan it. I scanned my with my scanner it was fine. I'm not sure about photo copy the light might be stronger and might ruin it.
As far as laminating goes. If it is a hot laminator then Dont Do It! I have seen one get laminated and right before our eyes it turned black. However if there is a cold laminating machine around, you can use that.
Just make sure that the laminating film is acid free otherwise the color of the ultrasound will change with time I don't know about photocopying, but I took a picture of my print. Just make sure to hold the print at a slight angle so that the camera flash doesn't create a glare.

I almost copied mine so I'm glad I read this post. The lady at staples was completely not helpful. She seemed knowledgable but everything she told us didn't work and she just seemed more like someone who takes her job very seriously and tries to sound smart about resolution and all these things even though she wouldn't help with the actual process and it was just like Okay I'm gonna go elsewhere thanks..
